(KCEN) -- A Texas charity is out thousands of dollars after some one-of-a-kind boots meant to raise money for kids were stolen.
Monday morning, someone broke into a vehicle and stole $6,000 worth of boots belonging to a charity in San Antonio.
The non-profit uses horses to work with children with disabilities and adults with mental and physical challenges.
A San Antonio western wear store loaned the boots to the group to use during a fundraising gala.
Greg White of Billy's Western Wear said, "It just makes you feel crushed that you go out of your way to help kids with disabilities and someone would break into the car and someone would steal these boots that didn't even belong to Upward Transitions."
The charity says the boots are worthless to whomever has them because no two are alike.
Only the left boot of each pair was used to show off during the gala.
