(KCEN) -- A newly published report says Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin has a criminal past.
The St. Louis Post-Disptach is reporting Akin was repeatedly arrested during anti-abortion protests in 1985.
The paper reports says Akin was arrested at least three times in March and April of 1985.
In one case, the paper's 1985 story said, "Police had to carry Akin into an elevator," after arresting him at a demonstration in St. Louis.
A campaign advisor said Akin will not dispute the Post-Dispatch report, but he won't have anything more to say about it.
Akin is challenging Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill in the upcoming election.
