(KCEN) -- New car dealer inventories are swelling and that has used car prices falling.

According to CNW research, car dealers are asking an average price of $11,419 for their used cars this month.

That's down a little from September.

The reason? A rise in new car sales has left more inventory of used cars, thanks to more trade-ins.

And there are more off-lease and off-commercial vehicles.
