(KCEN) -- Many on the East Coast are getting ready for Hurricane Sandy after the storm killed 31 people across the Caribbean.

People from North Carolina to New England are preparing as forecasters say the storm has the potential to become a hybrid super storm as it mergers with a polar air mass.

Sandy is expected to make landfall on Tuesday near Delaware and New Jersey.
