(KCEN) -- If you're in the market for a used car, pay close attention.
Just as with any hurricane, thousands of vehicles that are damaged or destroyed from floodwater may be re-sold.
A number of these vehicles will end up on used car lots.
To spot a flood-damaged car, edmunds.com advises buyers to be look for musty or moldy odors, discolored carpeting or upholstery and fogging inside headlamps.
Also check the vehicle for rust or flaking metal in the undercarriage and dirt buildup in unusual areas.
