(KCEN) -- Writing in cursive may be a thing of the past.
A school district in Missouri says it may step away from students learning how to write in cursive.
They say technology has made the practice obsolete, but many students have mixed opinions.
Fourth grade student Emma Endeerson said, "I think they should teach it cause then we'll have a second way to write."
Sixth grade teacher Logan Jennings said, "Cursive used to be the way you wrote formally. We don't do that anymore, now you type papers, now you email, you communicate in a way that's through text, so I think we should be pushing new ways like typing, touch typing."
There is no word when a final decision will made.
