Deck The Halls Holiday Gift Market Kicks Off With A Bang

Posted: Updated:

The Junior League of Waco's seventh annual Deck the Halls Holiday Gift Market kicked off with a bang.

The gift market is the non profits largest fundraiser that benefits women and children of McLennan County.

This event brings in vendors from all across the nation, more than 100 to be exact.

And they all offer something a little different, which makes Christmas shopping a breeze.

"I've come here every single year since the first time that they've had it," said shopper Petra Ashleman.

Ashleman like many others have turned the Junior League of Waco's annual gift market into a yearly reunion.

"We just kind of look forward to come out, shop, and have a good time, and hang out with the girls," said shopper Holli Short.

Whether your looking for something with a little sparkle or bling.

"I look forward to the jewelry, I love the unique jewelry that people make," said Ashleman.

Or your more of a sassy chic kinda girl.

"I've already got my first purchase of the night and it's still young," said Short.

There is defiantly something for everyone.

"We have about 100 vendors that have joined us this weekend to come and sell their stuff and we're so thankful for them because without them we wouldn't have a show at all," said Deck the Halls Co-Chair Kelly Meier.

The Junior League of Waco relies on this huge event to raise money for different projects they oversee.

"There's several different community projects throughout Waco that all impact the lives of women and children," said Deck the Halls Co-Chair Beth Armstrong.

And with Christmas right around the corner, now's the perfect time to do some holiday shopping and help out the community while your at it.

"Just going to look for some Christmas gifts and enjoy the night out," said shopper Hayley Peavey.

The weekend long event includes a mother and daughter tea, brunch with Santa and several other fun festivities you wont want to miss.

"I'll come again tomorrow, tomorrow they have the fashion show," said Ashleman.
