(KCEN) -- Retailers are reporting strong sales for October, but will that and Sandy dampen upcoming holiday sales?
Americans were spending their dollars briskly in October.
Twenty-one retailers from Target to Macy's reported monthly sales in October were up by five percent.
But analysts fear all the spending plus purchases on storm supplies from megastorm Sandy could drain wallets and cut costumers back in the weeks again.
That would be bad news for retailers which can make up to 40 percent of their annual sales during the holidays.
