Firefighters spent most of the morning fighting a fire at a Bellmead warehouse Monday.
The fire broke out at around 2 a.m. at the Texas Meter & Devices Building on New Dallas Hwy near I-35 exit 337B.
Both north and southbound lanes were originally closed. Police have re-opened southbound lanes, but because the nearest fire hydrant is around 1100 feet away, have kept the northbound lanes closed to make room for fire hoses.
No one was inside at the time of the fire. According to their website, Texas Meter & Devices employs between 100 and 250 people in the Waco area.
