(KCEN) -- Millions of muppets took to the streets on Saturday in support of funding for public broadcasting.
The million puppet march is a response to Mitt Romney's proposal to reduce funding for PBS and programs like "Sesame Street".
The colorful bunch marched from Lincoln Park to the Capitol in Washington D.C.
More than 1700 people have RSVP'd on Facebook to bring their puppets to rally.
The Sesame workshop's tax return shows it earned revenues of $122 million last year, while receiving about $8 million in federal grants.
