(KCEN) -- A suspect has been arrested for robbing the Fort Hood National Bank on Constitution Drive in Copperas Cove in September.
On September 27, the suspect, now identified as 34-year-old John Russell Lightner, went into the bank, handed the teller a note, showed a handgun and demanded money. He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured in the incident.
Lightner was arrested on October 22 at a traffic stop after he was identified during the investigation. He was taken to the Killeen City Jail and was later transported to the Federal Court in Waco where he pled guilty. Lightner was then placed in U.S. Marshall's custody without bond.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation helped with the investigation.
