(KCEN) -- After 28 years Bell County now has a new sheriff in town.
Republican candidate Eddy Lange won over Democratic candidate Frank Hernandez.
The former Bell County Commissioner plans to start working right away by creating a new administration.
He says he and his team will put more deputies in rural area because of the growth of the county.
Schedule changes will be made at the Bell County Jail, from rotating shifts to permanent shifts.
This will allow workers to go back to school, if need be, or spend more time with their families.
Lange said, "We're elated. We're just looking forward to putting together a new administration team and making things happen in the Sheriff's Department."
He also plans on balancing the Sheriff's Department's tight budget.
