(KCEN) -- One of college football's most legendary coaches has died.
Darrell Royal was 32-years-old when he took the head coaching job at the University of Texas back in 1956.
He had previously coached at Mississippi State and Washington.
In all his years as a head coach, he never had a losing season.
Royal suffered from Alzheimer's disease and recently had a fall at the assisted living center where he was being cared for.
He was 88 years old.
