(KCEN) -- It's time to get your mail ready for the holiday season.

Today the U.S. Postal Service kicked off the holiday rush to remind you to mail early.

This year they expect to deliver 17.9 billion cards, letters and packages between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

December 17 will be the busiest mailing day of 2012 with more than 650 million pieces of mail.

And here's an interesting tip, using no zip code is actually better than using a wrong zip code.
