
(KCEN) -- Yesterday Fort Worth honored a president whose legacy ended in that area.
The city of is paying tribute to President John F. Kennedy in the form of a new memorial.
Kennedy arrived in Fort Worth on November 22, 1963.
It was the day before his assassination in downtown Dallas.
Dozens of donors contributed to the two million dollar memorial.
It features an eight-foot bronze statue of the president, photographs, a waterfall and famous JFK quotes.
JFK Tribute Co-Chair Shirlee Gandy said, "It's gonna be a tribute to the President's visit to our community and we wanted to remember that day."
Next year marks 50 years since Kennedy was assassinated.
