Obama Becomes Teary-Eyed While Speaking to Campaign Staff

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- When was the last time we saw a president cry? Well President Obama had an emotional ride through his final campaign and the day after the election, that emotion spilled over.

Speaking to his Chicago campaign staff, the President became teary-eyed as he told staffers he appreciated their hard work and said that even before the election results, he felt the work he had done "had come full circle."

Obama said, "What you guys have done means that the work I'm doing is important. And I'm really proud of that. I'm really proud of all of you. What you guys have accomplished will go down in the annuls of history and people will read about it and they'll, but the most important thing you need to know is that your journey is just beginning."

The President also talked about his work as a community organizer in Chicago and told staffers and volunteers that they will do "amazing things" in their lives.
