Actor Finally Laid To Rest After Prolonged Dispute Over Remains - kcentv.com - KCEN HD - Waco, Temple, and Killeen

(KCEN) --  It's been more than three months since actor Sherman Hemsley died and now a Texas judge has ruled the actor can finally be buried.

Hemsley played George Jefferson on the TV sitcom The Jeffersons.

He died in July of lung cancer.  

But his body has been in a funeral home in El Paso because of challenges to his will.  

On Friday a judge ruled the will was valid and that his longtime friend Flora Bernal can proceed with his burial.
