iPads and Kindles May Help People With Vision Loss Read Better

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Using an iPad or Kindle may help people with vision loss read better and faster.

A new study tested the reading speed of 100 patients with either macular degeneration or diabetes-related vision problems.

Compared to reading a newspaper or book, using electronic tablets improved reading speed in all of the patients.

Researchers think the ability to increase the font and the back-lit screens are key.
