
The University of Texas has issued the following statement:
The University of Texas is reviewing issues pertaining to its women's track and field program. Until this process is completed, head coach Beverly Kearney will be on paid administrative leave.
No details were released.
Kearney, hired by Texas in 1993, has been the most successful coach in the women's athletic department. She has led the Longhorns to six NCAA team championships — outdoor titles in 1998, 1999 and 2005; indoor crowns in 1998, 1999 and 2006. She also has guided Texas to a total of 20 indoor and outdoor conference championships.
In 2007, Kearney was enshrined into the Hall of Fame of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
