
(KCEN) -- Two employees of the city of Killeen are on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
Director of Finance Barbara Gonzales and Fleet Services Director Kim Randall have been on leave since October 5. The reason for the investigation is not known. The city will not comment on specifics of the investigation until it has been completed. They did however, confirm that the investigation surrounds the Fleet Services Division.
Gonzales was hired in 2003 as the General Services Director and was promoted to Finance Director in March of 2007. She also worked as the Assistant Director of Finance from 1990 to 1995. Gonzales oversees the finance department, which is in charge of Killeen's fiscal management. The accounting, purchasing and utility collections divisions are under the finance department.
Randall was hired in 1988 and was promoted to Fleet Services Director in August of 2003. The Fleet Services Division oversees the maintenance and repair of all city-owned vehicles.
In a statement released, City Manager Glenn Morrison said, "Barbara Gonzales and Kim Randall were placed on administrative leave October 5 pending the results of an internal investigation. The investigation is ongoing and the City of Killeen will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded."
Acting directors have been put in place to oversee these operations in their absence.
