Salvation Army of Waco Still Needs Donations for Thanksgiving
(KCEN) -- While you're shopping for your family's Thanksgiving feast, local charities and non-profits ask that you keep them in mind.
The Salvation Army of Waco still needs around 20 turkeys in order to feed the usual 400 people who come together for the holiday at their Community Kitchen.
They invite anyone who doesn't have the means to put food on the table, or just doesn't have a family to celebrate with, to join them Thanksgiving day from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
From those who want to give, they ask for food and monetary donations.
Maj. Dan Ford of the Salvation Army of Waco said, "We have more volunteers than we can put to work on Thanksgiving day so if they can cook a turkey and de-bone it for us that would be a wonderful gift and way that they can volunteer their services."
They're also asking for dessert dishes like cakes and pies.
Please bring all donations to the Community Kitchen on Webster.
