(KCEN) -- Retail sales fell in October for the first time in four months.

Businesses that saw a decline included auto dealers, furniture, electronics and hardware stores.

But sales at grocery stores and gas stations actually increased.

This didn't help the overall average though.

The U.S. Census Bureau is reporting a decrease in sales of 0.3 percent for last month.
