Milley Nominated as New Commanding General of Fort Hood
(KCEN) -- Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced today that the President has nominated Maj. Mark Milley for appointment to the rank of Lt. Gen. and to be the Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood.
Milley is currently the Commanding General of the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum in Fort Drum,
Milley has been nominated for the position but must first be confirmed by Congress.
III Corps and Fort Hood Commander LTG Don Campbell Jr. released a statement about the nomination, saying, "Major General Milley is a proven combat leader and
has successfully commanded at all levels."
