(KCEN) -- Airports and highways across Texas are quite crowded this weekend.
Gas prices are on a decline from earlier this year but they are changing daily.
Which could be good or bad for your Thanksgiving travels.
The Thanksgiving drive to Grandma's house is going to cost Texans less than others across the country.
In Central Texas the average price per gallon of regular unleaded is $3.13.
That's nearly 30 cents a gallon less than the national average.
AAA tells us that gas prices peaked in September and have been going down ever since.
And this could possibly be a record year in terms of lower gas prices.
For those who fly this holiday season ticket prices are also down.
AAA is predicting 3-million people to take to the skies but that's still less than average.
And if you've been out and about this weekend you probably noticed early travelers hitting the road.
Some drivers we spoke to say a good gift this season for them would be for prices to keep dropping.
Central Texas resident John Degraaff says, "My truck sucks up a good bit of gas trying to get there and back. It's a $120 to fill it up totally."
President and CEO of AAA Robert Darbelnet says, "Carving turkeys with family and friends still trumps pinching pennies."
