(KCEN) -- A man is shot in the hand during an attempted robbery in Waco.

Police say around 6:30 P.M., the 22-year-old man was getting into his car at a local convenience store when another man pointed a gun through his passenger side window.

The robber told the man to give him money but the victim had other plans.

He grabbed the gun and was then shot in the hand.

The gunman ran and is still on the loose.

The suspect is described as a black male.
