
UPDATE (KCEN) -- The victim who was killed in the multi-vehicle pileup on I-35 northbound yesterday has been identified as 24-year-old Stephen Fu from Dallas.

UPDATE (KCEN) -- The victim has now been removed from the vehicle.
It is confirmed that only one person, an Asian male, was killed in the accident when his white Acura got pinned under and in between two semi trucks.

UPDATE (KCEN) -- Traffic is backed up for about 9 miles to the north side of Temple.
The Texas Department of Transportation is advising drivers take alternate routes if they are planning on heading north on I-35.
The route they advise from Temple is to take FM 36 W, which connects to FM 317 north to Moody. Then go east on FM 107 to either FM 2113, which becomes Spring Valley Road in Hewitt, or stay on FM 107 to Eddy and then go north on I-35.

UPDATE (KCEN) -- Accident reconstruction is now underway for the multi-vehicle accident on I-35 northbound.
There is no known cause at this time but speed may have been a factor.
One car, an Acura, was pinned under and in between two semi trucks. There was at least one person in the vehicle who was killed. The body has not yet been removed from the vehicle.
Officials also believe one of the trucks may have gone partially airborne in the accident.

(KCEN) -- Several vehicles crashed around 12:30 on I-35 northbound at exit 314 near Eddy.
Traffic is being diverted onto the access road and is backed up for at least 5 miles to Troy.
Reports say there are at least 13 vehicles involved, including four 18-wheelers.
At least one fatality has been confirmed and at least one person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The person who was killed has not been identified but the vehicle that person was driving was pinned under one of the semi trucks.
A Texas DPS helicopter landed on the highway then flew above the accident for several minutes.
The northbound side of the highway is expected to be closed for four to six hours for accident clean up.
