
(KCEN) -- As you're out and about buying all the necessities for your Thanksgiving feast, be sure not to forget the less fortunate.
Many central Texas non-profits and organizations are still collecting Thanksgiving day donations.
Whether you can spare a few extra dollars or you buy an extra turkey at the store, centers around the area say they need it.
Throughout the week organizations are handing out Thanksgiving meals and will provide dinner to thousands of less fortunate on Thursday, but need your help to do it.
Jim Hornsby, the director at Churches Touching Lives for Christ, said, "Mainly its individuals and churches bring in the food or giving us cash donations to where we can buy the things that are needed."
There are several Thanksgiving donation drop off locations here in central Texas, including the Salvation Army in Waco and Killeen and Churches Touching Lives for Christ in Temple.
The Harker Heights Fire Department is taking monetary donations for Thanksgiving meals as well.
