Thanksgiving is a time to spend with family and friends celebrating all that we have to be thankful for.
But for many Central Texas families, Thanksgiving can mean stress and worry as they try and provide one special meal, many people take for granted.
But some organizations are stepping up to help.
For many families Thanksgiving would be impossible without non profits like, Churches Touching Lives for Christ in Temple.
"They help out hundreds of families, on a monthly basis, not just on the holidays. They're doing great things here," said Clyde Braswell.
For the past 19-years the non profit has helped more than 700 families survive every month.
"They've helped out me in the past that's how I know about it," said Braswell.
Now back on his feet, Braswell is taking the opportunity to give back.
"I'm trying to help out a friend whose bed ridden," said Braswell.
And CTLC Director Jim Hornsdy said helping each other is what it's all about.
"This is a community effort, CTLC only exist because of the churches and the community. This is the community helping the community," said Hornsdy.
With the help of the community thousands of Central Texans are going to be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner this year.
"It's people that have lost jobs, or people that have suffered a sickness, and so they can't you know make ends meet with out a little help, so this gives them a help up," said Hornsdy.
And Clyde Braswell knows exactly what it's like to have a lending hand reach out.
"It's all a part of being humble, I try to be humble in all I do and be grateful and thankful," said Braswell.
Each of the baskets that are being given out are filled with Thanksgiving necessities.
Everything from the cranberry sauce, to the turkey.
