(KCEN) -- The Consumer Product Safety Commission issues a warning to parents today, beware of those little single-use liquid detergent packets.
This year alone, the CPSC says it's received reports from consumers and poison control centers of about 500 cases involving children and adults who were injured by single-load liquid laundry packets.
Some children have even required hospitalization after ingesting the toxic chemicals in the packets.
To prevent poisonings, the CPSC is urging parents and caregivers to keep the packets out of the sight and reach of children.
