(KCEN) -- In Florida a woman was charged with manslaughter after the decomposing body of her husband was found in her home.

Fifty-six-year-old Sheree Peters was arrested on Saturday.

Her 62-year-old husband James was last seen alive three weeks ago.

Investigators say relatives discovered the decomposing body at the Peters' home.

The woman told detectives she shot James in a struggle over a gun.

She said she offered to call an ambulance but he refused, so she went to bed.
