(KCEN) -- A new CNN poll shows Americans are not as optimistic about the county's future as they were four years ago.

That poll finds 56 percent of the public thinks the country will be better off four years from now.

That's down from the 76 percent who felt that way in 2008 after President Obama won his first presidential bid.

Now looking ahead to his second term, 54 percent say they are enthusiastic or optimistic.
