Brandon McDaniel is buying more than $50 worth of Powerball tickets. but that's only because on Wednesday, on a whim, he bought a scratch off and won $500. "I never win on these things anyways so the fact that this happened I'm gonna take that as a sign to keep pushing on it," said Brandon.
And now he could win $550 Million. That's the largest jackpot in Powerball history.
And everyone wants to be a Millionaire.
"I'm feeling lucky today and I want you to know it. I'm ready," said Gary Ramos.
"I'm hoping. I doubt if I'll hit it but you know, what the heck," said another jackpot hopeful.
But don't forget the cash option is $360.2 million and then 25% of the winnings will go to federal taxes. And lucky us, we live in Texas. One of 8 states that does not pay state taxes on earnings.
Bethanie Frazier doesn't even have to play to win. Hopefuls like Brandon have been offering her a cut in the winnings all day, just for giving them the "lucky" ticket.
"and if I hit, you know we're not coming to work Monday, right? You're coming with me Bethanie," said Brandon.
"I got asked to live in Europe today. He better come back when he wins," said Frazier.
And Brandon believes he will. After all, he's on a winning streak. "I didn't plan on having this money so if just kind makes to sense to take that chance," he said.
