(KCEN) -- The boil water notice that was issued for Lorena earlier this week has now been canceled.

A water main break caused by I-35 construction had caused the city to issue the boil notice for all residents on the west side of the highway.

The notice asked residents to boil all water before consumption or to use bottled water instead of tap water.

The city now says the water is safe for drinking without boiling.
