(KCEN) -- One NYPD officer is getting world-wide attention by giving a homeless man a pair of boots.
Officer Larry de Primo was on the counter-terrorism watch when he saw a barefoot homeless man.
The officer went into a nearby shoe store and bought a pair of water-proof boots with his own money and gave them to the man.
A tourist who witnessed the exchange snapped what has now become a famous photo.
The tourist said she heard de Primo say, "I have these size 12 boots for you. They are all-weather. Let's put them on and take care of you."
De Primo says he keeps the receipt in his bullet-proof vest to remind himself that some people have it worse.
