(KCEN) -- Kansas City Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a Kansas City Chiefs football player.
Police say 25-year-old linebacker Jovan Belcher shot himself outside the team's practice facility early this morning.
Minutes earlier, police were called to a reported shooting at a home where a woman said her daughter 22-year-old Kasandra Perkins was shot multiple times by her boyfriend.
Police later responded to the practice facility, where Belcher was in his car with a gun to his head.
Darin Snapp of the Kansas City Police Department says,"When the officers were pulling up they observed a black male with a gun to his head talking to a couple of coaches out in the parking lot. As officers pulled up and began to park, that's when they heard gunshots. "
Perkins was taken to the hospital where she died.
She is a 2009 graduate of Anderson High School in Austin.
The couple had a 3-month-old baby together.
