Fort Hood's New Commander Approved by Congress

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- It's official, Fort Hood's new commander was approved late yesterday afternoon by Congress.

Maj. Gen. Mark Milley is currently the Commander of the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York.

Milley graduated from Princeton University and was commissioned through ROTC.

He will take the place of Lt. Gen. Don Campbell, who left Fort Hood last week to take command of U.S. Army Europe and 7th Army in Germany.

There's still no word on when Milley will take the reigns on post.
