From Macys to Nordstrom, more and more retail stores are offering shoppers the opportunity to give up on paper and get a digital receipt in their email.
Apple computer has been offering digital receipts for some time, but this holiday season there will be even more stores offering online receipts.
But analysts say paper receipts won't go away just yet.
Senior analyst Sarina Dahukey said, "I don't think printed receipts will go away totally but I think more and more, we'll see retailers offering an option for digital."
People who like paper receipts say they want something they can hold in their hand when it comes time to return an item, however, people who like digital say they often lose their paper receipts and know they can find their receipt in their email.
