(KCEN) -- A new prenatal test can spot problems more often than current tests.
More than 4,000 pregnant women with a high genetic risk for abnormalities like down syndrome took part in the study.
They underwent a new test called microarray analysis, as well as the standard test.
The new test found an abnormality in one out of 60 pregnancies, the same pregnancies that were given a clean bill of health with routine testing.
This new method was also able to provide answers in cases of stillbirth.
Right now current tests often don't find any relevant information, which can be frustrating for parents.
