Killeen police are investigating an early morning homicide that happened at 1100 Royal Crest Drive.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 2:26 am in reference to shots fired at a residence there.
Upon the officer's arrival, they located a 31 year old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at 4:45 at Darnell Army Medical Center.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and another male were inside the residence; when the female who was upstairs heard shots fired.
The woman came down to find the victim, her boyfriend, suffering from gunshot wounds and the other male gone from the residence.
The name of the victim has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.
