
(KCEN) -- The average fixed rate on mortgages jumped this week.
Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac reports the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage loan is up to 3.34 percent. compared to 3.32 percent last week.
A 15-year fixed rate rose slightly to 2.67 percent up from 2.64 percent.
The low rates help keep home buying and refinancing an appealing option for consumers.
They're also helping fuel a modest housing recovery.
