(KCEN) -- Air travelers carrying smartphones, digital tablets and other electronic devices may no longer have to turn off their gadgets from take-off to landing.
The New York Times is reporting the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission is urging the Federal Aviation Administration to allow more electronics aboard planes and no more airplane mode.
At this time the FAA requires passengers to turn off electronics during takeoff, even though there has been no proof they interfere with flight services.
The FAA says it will review the request and its polices about electronic devices in flight.
