(KCEN) -- This holiday season, be on the lookout for what some are calling the 12 Scams of Christmas.
McAfee has targeted a dozen scams where crooks are after your money.
Many scams can be avoided by just following one rule. If it seems to good to be true, it generally is.
Don't click on "contest", "get rich", "stay at home" or any other suspicious postings or messages, even if they're from friends.
That applies to social media, email and Skype.
Only download apps from official app stores and check reviews.
Also, don't buy gift cards from third parties. It is best to stick with the official retailer.
