(KCEN) -- Late yesterday afternoon the Dallas Cowboys held a news conference following the death of one teammate and the arrest of another.
Defensive Lineman Josh Brent was released from an Irving jail on Sunday after posting his $500,000 bond for intoxication manslaughter.
His friend and teammate Jerry Brown died.
Yesterday Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett said they plan to hold a memorial for Brown.
He also says the Cowboys will stand behind Brent as this difficult process continues.
Garrett said, "We're trying to help him through today. It's a very, very difficult and challenging time for him."
Brent had a prior arrest for DUI while at the University of Illinois in 2009.
