(KCEN) -- Fans of Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera gathered in Monterrey, Mexico, last night for a procession in her honor.
With posters in their hands, fans braved the cold weather to march through the streets to celebrate the life and music of the singer.
Her fans promised to mark the anniversary of her death with an annual pilgrimage.
The 43-year-old star died Sunday when the small jet she was traveling in crashed in northern Mexico.
Rivera was a mother of five who won over many fans in the U.S. and Mexico by overcoming hardships like domestic violence and teen pregnancy.
