(KCEN) -- Copperas Cove ISD is canceling classes at all of its campuses through the end of this week.
Classes will resume on Monday, December 17. The campuses will be closed to all students and staff until the 17.
"The district is reviewing emergency procedures and strengthening them before students are allowed on campuses," said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joe Burns. "We're doing everything in our power to provide a safe environment."
The district is canceling classes because of persistent bomb threats at its junior high and high school. Nine threats have been received so far.
Eight juveniles have been detained by police during the investigation into the incidents. Officials are still investigating the threats.
The district also hopes that by canceling classes, the police will be able to investigate without more threats interrupting the ongoing investigations.
Tutoring for the high school students will be provided on December 13 and 14 at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove. Details can be found at www.ccisd.com.
