Killeen City Employees Terminated After Investigation

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Two Killeen city employees have been terminated, one has retired and one resigned after an internal investigation was concluded.

Finance Director Barbara Gonzales, Fleet Services Director Kim Randall, technician David Riddle and John Acker had been on administrative leave since October 5, pending an investigation into the Fleet Services Division.

Now, Gonzales and Acker have both been terminated.

Randall retired and Riddle resigned.

All of these changes are effective immediately.

"The citizens of Killeen deserve the absolute best services that city government can provide," said City Manager Glenn Morrison. "These changes were necessary to ensure the future success of fleet services."

With vacant jobs needing to be filled immediately, Erich Morsbach was appointed as interim Fleet Services Director until a permanent replacement is chosen. Martie Gillespie was appointed interim Director of Finance until a permanent replacement is chosen.

Details of the investigation were not released.
