(KCEN) -- The threat of school violence is spreading across the nation.

In Oklahoma, police arrested a student for planning his own school shooting.

Police arrested 18-year old Sammie Chavez Friday morning before school started.  

Police say students told the assistant principal that Chavez tried to recruit them to help in the plot and told them, if they refused he'd kill them and himself.

Investigators later found evidence on the his computer, including searches for guns.
