(KCEN) -- A new study suggests that although milk is a great source of vitamin D and calcium for kids, it should be consumed in moderation.
The study revealed cow's milk has components that can block the absorption of iron in young children.
But researchers say two cups a day is sufficient to boost vitamin D and other nutrients in most children with a minimum impact on iron levels stored in the body.
The study surveyed more than 1,300 children between the ages of two and five and found cow's milk can decrease kids' iron levels.
