(KCEN) -- The Golden Globes may have snubbed "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," but movie-goers sure didn't.
The film produced box office magic, banking 84.8 million dollars and breaking the record for largest December release of all time.
"Rise of the Guardians" remained steady in the second slot, bringing in 7.42 million dollars and "Lincoln" broke in the top three with 7.2 million.
