Baylor's Odyssey Sims Named Big 12 Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas - Odyssey Sims (Baylor) has been selected Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as chosen by a media panel. Sims earned her first player of the week nod after garnering five freshman accolades in 2010-11. It marked the third straight week that a Baylor player received the honor, senior Brittney Griner was selected on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10.

Sims scored a season-high 27 points while leading all scorers in Baylor's 94-56 win over Oral Roberts. It was her second game back after missing four contests due to an injury. Sims was 11-of-16 from the floor, including 2-of-5 from three-point range and a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line. She also added six steals and six assists while committing only two turnovers in 29 minutes of action.

Baylor hosts 13th-ranked Tennessee on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. The contest will be televised by ESPN.
